Zola Blood – Islands

We’ve been following Zola Blood for a while now and we gotta say it: they never disappoint. Islands is their latest effort, an extra fine electro-pop tune punctuated by staccato hand claps and throbbing synths and bejeweled by the outstanding vocals of lead singer Matt.

Speaking on the song’s lyrics, he explained: “A friend of mine was telling me about an evening she spent with her boyfriend of the time, getting rained on all night in a tent and said in passing that they felt like an island. That imagery just stuck in my head. The track is about drifting off with someone, forgetting who you are or where you’re supposed to be.”

Island is taken from Zola Blood’s upcoming debut album Infinite Games, which is due out early next year via Pond Life Records. Pre-order it here.
