Yung – Uncombed Hair

Uncombed Hair, the latest offering by Danish punk quartet Yung, has the same vibe of some tracks I deeply loved from The Hotelier’s record Home Like Noplace. It’s rousing, emotional and strikes you straight to the heart. I’m not saying that it sounds the same; despite the vague similarity, this is definitely more fuzzy and raw, but the emotions that it brings up shake me in the same way. Speaking on the track, singer, guitarist, and songwriter Mikkel Holm Silkjær said: “I literally wrote ‘Uncombed Hair’ in ten minutes and recorded the song about an hour after that. Which is a big contrast to the more permanent themes that the song addresses – It relates to death and depression, which was something that was a significantly big part of one of my dear friend’s life when I wrote the song and couldn’t help but inform my music. So this one is dedicated to bad things and good people.

Uncombed Hair is the second track to be taken from Yung’s debut album A Youthful Dream, which will be released on June 10th via Fat Possum / Tough Love.
