Yung – Nobody Cares

Has Denmark become the promised land of punk? After Iceage’s breakthrough, a new band is rising right now from Aarhus, over a wave of exuberant urgency. It’s called Yung and Nobody Cares is a great introduction to them. Think about C86’s jangle guitars collapsing in a wall of fuzzy sound, made of furious percussions and distressed vocals. Frontman Mikkel Holm Silkjær, at only 20 years old, carries on that anguished, fuck-you-all attitude that marks every glorious youth. It’s a call to arms and you’ve been called. Fans of Jay Reatard and The Replacements will love this quartet.

Yung’s first international release, a 6-track EP called Alter, will be released through Tough Love Records on March 2nd.
