White Sea – Prague

I’m admittedly late on this one as I first heard about White Sea – Morgan Kibby’s solo project – only a few months ago, when she released They Don’t Know, the first track from her debut LP. I noticed that there were many similarities with M83’s sound, from the synth lines to the high-pitched vocals. I assumed that the aforementioned debut album (which, btw, is out this spring) would have been similar to what she did in the past with her well-known collaborator.

I was wrong.

Prague, the song that Pitchfork premiered yesterday, shows that Morgan’s personality is vivid – in a heavier way – also outside the shoegaze-y soundscapes that Anthony Gonzalez is accustomed to build.
