Waterstrider – Calliope

Since forming on the UC Berkeley’s campus,  Waterstrider followed a process of growth that led them today, five years later, to announce the release of their debut album Nowhere Now. Calliope, the second song to be taken from the record, follows the mood imprinted by White Light, as it’s made of shimmering guitars, tribal beats and amazing falsetto vocals (courtesy of the lead singer Nate Salman).

Salman said that Calliope is “about a psychological battle with one’s muse. Afraid of giving everything to the unknown force behind a creative process and exposing our hearts to the world, we shackle ourselves to routine experiences“.

Nowhere Now will be released on April 6th in the UK and the day after in North America. Pre-order it here. Listen to Calliope and watch the Joe Nankin-directed video below.
