Twin Wave – Matador

The weekend starts in advance here at the Going Solo’s headquarters thanks to Twin Wave‘s new single Matador. Brooklyn-based trio have just dropped this dancey killer track driven by summery guitar chords that makes us shake our heads to the rhythm and feel an overall sensation of being back in the 80s, thanks to the crystal clear production work of Tommy Eichmann (Alex Winston). This is the first song off their forthcoming EP called Pour Out the Dark and we’re already looking forward to dance to all the others.

This is what frontman Nick Williams said about the track to the guys over at Noisey who premiered it: “The idea of bullfighting as an art form rather than a sport immediately struck me. Seeing beauty and art and being mesmerized by that kind of exhibited violence stayed with me ever since, and it was the first thing that came into my head after Sarik and Maxx first wrote the guitar riff that leads the track.”
