Toothless – Kairos

We already introduced to you Toothless, the new solo project of Bombay Bicycle Club’s Ed Nash, with his intriguing debut dreamy folk-single Terra. Now it’s time to give a spin to its b-side Kairos which, although preserving some of the intoxicating ethereal textures of the debut, shows a more guitar-pop oriented side of the musician. Different yet still a very pleasant listening.

Speaking about the track, Nash discusses its long gestation: “‘Kairos’ has existed in various forms for the past six years. I wrote the main melody in our [Bombay Bicycle Club’s] dressing room, behind the John Peel stage at Glastonbury in 2010, but it was only last year that I fully finished the song off. In ‘Kairos’ I wanted to look at the idea of our lives having a peak, and the point of realisation when we have had that time and we can’t get it back. ‘Kairos’ is the Ancient Greek word for the supreme moment.

Terra 7” vinyl will be released on 13th May via Trangressive/ParadYse Records. Pre-order available here.
