Tom Low – Phone
Liverpool-based bedroom-popper Tom Low has just debuted with a single called Phone that also stands as the title-track of a forthcoming debut EP. The 22-year-old kiddo seems to be deeply influenced by ’60s sounds and it’s interesting to see how easily he handles all kinds of instruments to create a multi-layered sort of lo-fi psych-pop. Everything’s recorded with his brand new iPhone 6 in different friends’ houses “with the idea behind each track to sound like the subject” and the result sounds like an outtake from last year’s Jimmy Whispers album or, even better, from 2011 Gruff Rhys’ Hotel Shampoo.
Phone is the first excerpt to be taken from Tom Low’s debut EP Phone, due out on February 26th via Deltasonic (The Coral, Hidden Charms).
