The Legends – Keep Him

One of the best thing that happens in the music world is when someone you truly love returns after years of silence with new stuff. This is the case of The Legends, the most personal project of Johan Angergård, deus ex machina of Swedish label Labrador Records. He’s now back after six years with a new LP called It’s Love, which will be released on June 30th through Brooklyn-based label Cascine (pre-order available  here).

Cascine’s founder Jeff Bratton cites Angergård and Labrador as a reference point “for what Cascine has become and strives to become. It was really an honor that he trusted us with his material, especially such a personal album, and let us help put that out into the world.

The first single Keep Him gives us some clues about which direction the record will take. Based on what we heard, it seems that The Legends’ sound is turned into something more complemplative and reflexive, in the wake of another lost band of Labrador Records: Airliner. No more feedback and noise then, but we like it anyway.
