The Big Moon – Formidable

Rising alt-rock quartet The Big Moon have announced (finally!!!) the release of their highly anticipated debut album, which is called Love In The 4th Dimension and will be released later next year. The record will feature some songs with which you should already be familiar, such as Cupid or Silent Movie Susie, and re-recorded versions of The Big Moon’s previous singles Sucker and The Road. Plus, of course, yet unreleased material.

The first song to be lifted from the new LP since the announcement is Formidable, which Annie Mac premiered as Hottest Record In The World. It’s a bewitching mid-tempo tune that highlights once again the band’s bold signature sound, made of rough interwoven guitars, clanging drums and the powerful, nuanced vocals of lead singer Juliette Jackson.

Speaking on the LP, Jackson said: “We spent twelve gorgeous summer days in the studio hanging out with the brilliant producer and super babe Catherine Marks, experimenting and noodling and shredding and hitting things until all the right noises happened at once. We’ve been playing these songs for two years now, and it’s a dream come true to finally immortalise them on record. It’s like having eleven tiny babies all at once, all with their own little faces and voices and personalities, and now we’re ready to throw them out of our nest and into your ears.

Love In The 4th Dimension was co-produced by Catherine Marks and Juliette Jackson and it will be released on CD, Vinyl and digitally on April 7th, 2017, through Fiction Records. Pre-orders are available via the band’s official website.
