Terror Pigeon! – Girl!

Take an ordinary Saturday afternoon after the holidays, sitting bored at the computer while I’m sipping a very decent coffee. The idea would be to move forward and write posts for the next week. There is so much good music to write about… Then it happened.

It came totally unexpected, because all my remaining hopes were pinned on the unlikely comeback of The Teenagers. I wasn’t hoping there more, at least this year. Instead I stumbled upon Girl! by Terror Pigeon! and I felt it. It has grown along with the first listening to the song. At first, the song is about two minutes of sweet, youthful toughs about the desire for someone. Then love explodes in all its joy and the party begins with the most pure, intoxicating, boisterous, catchy manifestation of love. Ever.

I find myself dancing in my bedroom, yelling out of the window that “There is nothing about you I will not love“, as an actual greenhorn. Yes, I felt young again. And I like it:

Terror Pigeon! were formerly known as Terror Pigeon Dance Revolt. They’re a Nashville-based collective lead by Neil Fridd. They released their debut LP I love you! I love you! I love you and I’m in love with you! Have an awesome day! Have the best day of your life! through David Byrne’s label Luaka Bop in 2010. They are about to release a sophomore LP!, called Live It Up Before You Die It Up!.

The record is out on September 23rd via Stay Magical on several formats, including postcard, tear stained war letter (WTF!!?!) and t-shirt. Check out Terror Pigeon’s awesome official website for the pre-order.
