Terror Jr – Caramel

Terror Jr, the hyped electro-pop trio formed by Felix Snow (producer of Kiiara, TYSM and more), David “Campa” Singer-Vine (of The Cataracs) and singer Lisa Terror, have unveiled the intro to their upcoming new recording project Bop City 2, the natural follow-up to their last year’s debut EP. The new track is called Caramel and it’s a slow-burning glitch-pop tune topped – as usual – by Lisa’s crystalline vocals and framed by a cinematic soundscape built around heavy bass, finger snaps & hand claps and intricate keys. The production obviously embraces Snow’s signature style but there’s more this time; everything is more nuanced and subtle than we might get listening carelessly.

Lyrics are fucking brutal though and seem like addressing the messy political moment that the US is currently living. As Lisa explained to Thump, “‘Caramel’ is a reaction to a surreal world in 2017. To myself, to counterfeit people with counterfeit morals. A fuck you and a welcome home.

Grapes 🍇.
