Soleima – Wasted

Following up her first official single Once Was, Copenhagen popstress Soleima (real name Sarah Mariegaard) is back with Wasted, a song made by various layers of alluring synths intertwined with the shimmering vocals dropped by the Danish popstress, which have been partially inspired by the Sukumaland – a region of Tanzania where Sarah lived – musical tradition. The production is really on point and we applaud Vera (Liss, MØ and many others) for that.

Speaking on the track, Soleima said that it is “about allowing yourself to run away from a crazy and awful world. Using a disguise and forgetting everything for a moment. But also it is a song about having blinders on. Not recognising, or choosing to forget – that we are living in a fucked-up world.””
