Soft Corporate – Slipped / Boats

There are some class acts that will give me chills forever. If I was writing down a list, surely The Shins and Death Cab For Cutie would be included. That said, it’s not hard to see why I like Soft Corporate; the Melbourne-based four-piece conveys the same vibes, musically and emotionally speaking. Slipped is a dreamy soft piece with a hint of bitterness within, as if bandleader Troy Sheehan had gone to James Mercer’s songwriting school and was showing the results. On the other hand, Boats is definitely more upbeat, a song built over the interweaving of indie-rock guitars and captivating vocals.

Both track are taken from Soft Corporate’s debut EP Good Things Will Happen, which was recorded at Sing Sing South studio and produced by Colin Leadbetter (Sarah Blasko, Whitley) in late 2015.
