SOAK – B a noBody

We told you about 17-year-old Bridie Monds-Watson some time ago, when she released her Blud EP on CHVRCHES’ label Goodbye Records. Now, a few months later, this young girl has turned 18, signed for Rough Trade and new material’s on the way. Not bad. The Irish multi-instrumentalist goes on by showing her enormous talent dropping a sort of 2.0 ballad, that starts from a simple acoustic guitar arpeggio and then closes itself in a “choral way”, with a full-band arrangement that recalls something you’ve heard on Daughter’s debut album.

“’B a noBody’ is about people who feel held back in life, or don’t know what their plan is. “If everybody is somebody, then nobody is everybody”: you can feel the same sense of loneliness and fear of what life will be while listening to her innocent whispers.

SOAK is currently recording her debut LP which is expected to be released early next year.
