Snowmine – Rome / Columbus

Maybe Snowmine could have taken over the world by now, if they hadn’t always refused every single agreement with big record labels. The Brooklyn-based five-piece has all the basis to please a mainstream audience, with cinematic sounds made of atmospheric strings and woodwinds blended with soft and delicate vocals, halfway between Local Natives and Beach House.

Take a listen to Rome and Columbus, two of the tracks featured on the upcoming Dialects, the follow-up to their 2011 debut release Laminate Pet Animals. You can pre-order the album (which is expected on February 4th) through the band’s homemade crowdfunding engine. It has been recorded in its entirety in a church located in Uptown Manhattan.
