Seramic – Same Mistakes

There are no doubts on Seramic‘s skills as singer/songwriter and pop artist. Having followed the nu-soul project of Marcus Foster since day 1 one, we’re glad now to hear this shift towards a more playful sound. Same Mistakes is the new single off an upcoming EP called I Got You and outlines Seramic’s appetite for open melodies infused with colorful electro-laden elements and gospel-tinged vocals. Think of a mix of Sly & The Family Stone, Earth, Wind & Fire and Justin Timberlake, but updated to 2017.

Speaking on the track, Seramic said: “’Same Mistakes’ was one of the first of a bunch of tracks that I wrote in LA couple of years ago that was a new way of working for me. I worked on it with my friends, Chris Stracey & Jack Glass from Bag Raiders. We built the track in the same way you would a Hip Hop track, sampling my vocals and programming beats which felt very liberating and fresh. I also worked on the song with Tobias Jesso Jr who I had been introduced through friends to help finish the song. These LA sessions were kind of the beginning for Seramic, blending loads of influences together and not taking itself too seriously. Back in London I produced the track with one of my favourite humans, Carassius Gold who I’ve co produced the ‘I Got Yu’ EP with.
