Sara Hartman – Two Feet Off The Ground

Last November we wrote that it wasn’t too late to add another name to the usual year-end “Ones To Watch” lists. The artist we suggested was Sara Hartman and now, three months later, you cannot deny that we were right on her. Monster Lead Me Home earned her nothing but praises, so much so that Ellie Goulding invited her to open the European dates of her arena tour. Ahead of her upcoming US tour, which will include also a bunch of showcases at SXSW, Sara shared today a new single, Two Feet Off The Ground, that shows the wildest side of her sound. The new song is indeed thanks to a cascade of thumping percussions and a prickly guitar lick that help to build a strong pace on which Sara unleashes her wonderful voice.

Talking about it, the Berlin-based singer said: “‘Two feet off the Ground’ is a «don’t think, just follow your instincts kind of tune». I read an old saying in a book about Weimar Berlin, that there was something in the air in this city that made you want to dance.

If you will be lucky enough to be at SXSW and make it for one of Sara’s shows, you might also have the chance to listen to this wonderful cover of Jamie XX’s Stranger In A Room. I’d say you can’t ask for more.
