Premiere: IYESAYA – Made

D. Gondry’s bedroom project, IYESAYA, is slowly but constantly making its way through this madness called music business. The Dorset-based songwriter has recently experienced the thrill of having a single, titled Monster, out via acclaimed pop-punk label Art Is Hard Records (Diet Cig, Gorgeous Bully, Flamingods) and today Gondry is back with a fresh tune, Made, which we have the pleasure to premiere. The song opens with a suggestive guitar lick that suddenly becomes the driven constant that leads Made towards its louder-self, by adding some kickin’ drums and flowing into a massive chorus that can be seen as a liberating scream from Gondry, who also produced the track.

Made is included in IYESAYA’s 3-track debut EP Back Home, set for release on cassette on June 7th through his own label Cat From Japan, with all profits being donated to Mind UK, a charity that provides help for those effected by mental health issues, which is something that touched also Gondry and those close to him throughout his life, as he explained to Noisey. While Made is “an ironic tribute to those people that always think they have it the worst”, Monster addressed the stigmas around mental health issues in modern society.
