Phoebe Bridgers – Motion Sickness

My Epiphany with Phoebe Bridgers occurred early this year, when Ryan Adams tweeted her music. Smoke Signals was such a terrific introduction to this incredibly talented singer/songwriter based in Los Angeles, who already toured for the likes of Julien Baker, Conor Oberst and Adams himself. Today she returns with a great announcement: on September 22nd her debut album Stranger In The Alps will be released via Dead Oceans (Destroyer, The Tallest Man On Earth, Mitski, Julianna Barwick, etc…). Ahead of the record, she shared today a first taste of it, a mesmerizing track called Motion Sickness that blends her unique and heartfelt voice with a minimalist production in which crispy guitar licks held together electric suggestions and classic songwriting textures.

Speaking about working on the upcoming record, Bridgers said: “I wasn’t trying to be too lo-fi, too hi-fi, too self-serious, too disingenuous…I feel pretty confident that I’m finding my voice I wanted the album to completely represent who I am and these songs are representative of what I set out to do.
