Ought – Waiting

Being signed by Constellation tells a lot about qualities of a band. For many, it’s enough for pay utmost attention. Ought are the latest addition of label’s roster and their new offering, Waiting, is a distended post-punk explosion which runs between icy guitar riffs and struggling vocals, sustained by pounding bass lines and bony drums. Think of Titus Andronicus+ Clap Your Hands Say Yeah collab… not bad, uh?

Leaded by vocalist Tim Beeler, the Montreal quartet had previously released New Calm, a freely downloadable self-recorded EP. Waiting is the first piece taken from the forthcoming Ought’s debut LP, which will be released somewhere in April. Listen below.
