News For Lulu – Spring Burns

News For Lulu are one of the Italian bands we are proud to show off abroad: their 2011’s sophomore LP, They Know, was mastered in Chicago by Carl Saff and one of the best alt-pop records released that year. After three long years of silence, the band’s now back with a new EP, Spring Burns, which is made by two tracks that come from the very same sessions that are giving birth to an upcoming LP, due to be released right after the Summer via Urtovox. Artwork is by American illustrator Robert Beatty.

Both the title-track and Alleys are gorgeous pop songs that mix alt-country influences (think of Wilco) and a folk-rock approach à la Bright Eyes (the electric guitar on Alleys is, indeed, played by Conor Oberst’s long time partner Ben Brodin).
