Mr Fogg – Time To Ascend

We stumbled upon Mr Foog due to Fluence, a major platform where artists publicists & music curators can easily connect with each other. Without any doubt, his submission is the best we received so far. We’re talking about Time To Ascend, the opening track on Mr Fogg’s third album Youth. It’s a stunning chamber-pop tune, with a strong cinematic build up which creates a sort of positive tension along the whole work. Mr Fogg’s vocals are simply fantastic and, generally speaking, the song recalls the sound of some lovely acts like Efterklang or Sigur Ros/Jonsi.

Mr Fogg is not a newbie: he’s the grandson of an opera singer and the great-grandson of two nineteenth century music hall performers. He has worked with musicians as diverse as Olafur Arnalds, Raffertie or Bjork/Feist/Damon Albarn producer Valgeir Sigurdsson. He also spent 2014 working behind the scenes on Thom Yorke’s BitTorrent experiment. For his new record, he decided to move on from the restless electronica of his previous works and switch to a more intimate level, embracing the raw beauty of strings, horns, harmonium, grand piano and church organ.

Time To Ascend comes along with an animated video curated by, which concept behind the visual is moving and fits perfectly with the soundscape. Check it out below.
