Morly – Sleeping In My Own Bed

Katy Morley has already proved to be an exceptional artist through her first two EPs Something More Holy and In Defense Of My Muse, both released via Cascine. Today Los Angeles based singer/songwriter and producer best know as Morly returns with a new single that will also serve as title track for a new extended play that will be released digitally and physically on 12″ vinyl again via Cascine on August 25th. As an artist who always relied on computers to create music, Sleeping In My Own Bed marks a clear change for Morly, who this time brought a more organic approach into the studio in order to make a song “so it can exist in human hands“. The result is a track blessed by a timeless vibe, built around cinematic piano chords and elegant arrangements inspired by the likes of her favourite musicians Nina Simon, Paul Simon, Joni Mitchell, Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan.

About the song, Morly explains: “Lyrically I love how much it can say with such a simple thought. How it can twist to feel both lonely and empowered. It’s something I needed to hear.
