Mononoke – Graceland

London-via-Liverpool songstress Mononoke earned some early praises with her debut single Alice, soon followed by the the title track of her recently released debut EP Silence For You. Though the artist named after the animated Japanese princess of the same name realized that much still it needed to be done: “I think I was too keen to get going before I had any material or imagery to back up what I had already put up online. I’ve been locked away in the studio writing and creating, preparing for my first official release.” Eight months later she resurfaced with the crafted sound that can be heard on Graceland, a brooding dark-pop piece blessed by a sleek production over which stand out her Lorde-alike vocals. Check it out below.
