Masasolo – Ordinary Day
The wind glides through hidden trickles in the air, shaping words and floating thoughts. The atmosphere is peaceful and pleasant, and you’d just lie there on the grass, wait for someone to show up. Most of the time, listen to a song brings to the mind images and back memories. These are the ones that the brand new track from Copenhagen-based quartet Masasolo has raised in my head for the first time. The band, fronted by the lead songwriter Morten Soogard, dropped the second single off their upcoming Ep Break Up, due out later this year. Ordinary Day is a sudden gust of psych-tinged alt-pop, soaked in layered harmonies and driving hook-laden rhythms. A rich jam of sweet 70s influenced vocals, hallmarked by jazzy drums and pearly synths. Looks like we got a doozy here.
