Margaret Glaspy – You And I / Somebody To Anybody

I stumbled across Margaret Glaspy a couple of weeks ago, randomly listening to some new stuff on my Soundcloud feed. Never heard of her before, but I knew immediately, after only few seconds that her songwriting was different. Intimate yet electrified, reminiscent of Sharon Van Etten in a certain way, Margaret’s songs make us understand how we can feel better alone with no regrets than to be forced into a relationship just for the sake of being with someone.

As her bio states, Glaspy’s influences range from Bill Withers to Elliott Smith to Weezer’s Pinkerton. She is the latest signee to ATO Records, which released her two-track EP You And I / Somebody To Anybody and will also drop her debut album this summer. Listen below.
