Luluc – Without A Face

If you draw the attention of Nick Drake’s producer and you get Sub Pop and The National’s Aaron Dessner to produce your album, it means you’re special. Zoë Randell and Steve Hassett are special. They make a Brooklyn-via-Melbourne folk duo called Lulucthat Sub Pop co-founder Jonathan Poneman describes as “bracing, subtle, tender and magnificent”.

Without A Face is the first track to be taken from their sophomore LP Passerby and it’s a slight folk elegy built around a mournful guitar arpeggio and the gorgeous vocals of Zoë Randell. Listen below.

Passerby is out July 14th via Sub Pop.
