Leon Bridges – River

June 23th has never been so distant. Leon Bridges‘ highly-anticipated debut album Coming Home will be released on that date through Columbia Records and each excerpt published so far is pure gold. The last one is called River and it fits perfectly into the now familiar vintage imagery of Leon. The song is built around only few soft acoustic chords and the steady clap of a tambourine, but when Leon’s voice comes in, it’s immediately clear what will fill all the empty spaces. A modern gospel, something that has to be played in the proper places, like a deconsecrated church or hidden in a centuries-old wood.

Leon Bridges will head to U.K. and Germany in July. If you’re lucky enough to live nearby the cities where he will play, do a favour to yourself and go to see him. Check out all the dates below.
