Leave The Planet – Coasts

Subtitle: exceeding expectations. We knew that Leave The Planet were great, but their Kanine Records debut is everything. It’s propulsive and engaging and uplifting, retro and very contemporary. Its recurring guitar motif has qualities (in terms of memorability) that we haven’t heard since Yumi Zouma’s The Brae and, before that, we haven’t heard in (too) long time (as Sarah Records ceased to exist in 1995). We feel we can legitimately say that Coasts is probably the best shoegaze song to be output from Britain in years and certainly the best shoegaze song with Italian blood in decades.

Listen below, then grab it digitally (alongside with b-side Sarah, Where Are You) via Kanine’s webstore.
