King Deco – Castaway
Last time we heard of King Deco, the NYC-based singer was lending her voice to Los Angeles production duo for the bombastic No Hard Feelings. Now we’re finally happy to welcome her back on her solo route (even if she hasn’t lost her crush on doing collaboration tracks), thanks to her new single Castaway, an uptempo track pumped by tropical percussions, handclaps and a thumping bassline that, helped by underlays of joyful synths, create the perfect vibe for the seaside imagery through which King Deco’s expresses the oncoming farewell to a lover.
About Castaway, the American pop artist has to say: “A lot of my music has to do with the idea of breaking free and growing the courage to go against the grain when you need to. It also explores what it’s like to be a woman in number of different situations. I rarely write straight up love songs but when I do I like to approach it in a very fun, comedic, tongue-in-cheek kind of way.”
