Kassandra – No Longer Lovers

Once signed to Capitol Records, Swedish songstress Kassandra got rid of her deal with the major label to return as independent artist with a new single, No Longer Lovers, ahead of the release of her upcoming EP Fantasma. The track is drenched in a nocturnal soundscape drawn by a futuristic production marked by pounding percussions and ethereal synths, with Kassandra’s haunting vocals standing on the top of it.

Speaking on the track on her Facebook’s wall, the Stockholm-based artist said: “No Longer Lovers’ was born back in 2014, on a 8 hour bus ride down to the south of Sweden. I was on my way to work with a producer called Martin Eriksson for the first time (who since functions as my musical soulmate in the studio). This was the first song we started working on the night I arrived and has carried several names, atmospheric shapes and layers of synths and sounds up until one day when we decided to peal it all off, layer by layer. Darling by darling. And left was the core of the feelings I express in the lyrics.
