joan – Love Somebody Like You

In the past year or so, we have seen succeed at least two synth-pop acts with a strong melodic-oriented attitude and a sound that is mainly distinguished by the constant use of retro synthesizers: The 1975 and LANY. If I had to be on the next one, I’d put my money on joan. The duo have just released their sophomore single Love Somebody Like You and it sounds so infectious thanks to its mix of sugary pop textures, retro synth hooks and puncky guitar licks that there’s no need to spend too many words on it. Though I’d like to had that there’s a cool and classy surprise by the end of the track’s second half….

About the song, the duo stated: “Love Somebody Like You is a song for someone that you obsess over. they seem out of reach, but you can’t help but to take a chance and go after them.
