Premiere: Jimmy Whispers – (Summer In Pain)

Chicago-based pop-lo-fi crooner Jimmy Whispers earned his nickname from his childhood, due to his shyness. Now that bashful kid has become one of the most expansive entertainer of The Wind City. There’s no barriers between him and the audience on stage and music venues aren’t the only places where his art is bounded; it can be also found on some Chicago wall and in his ‘zine Summer in Pain, which was made of collages, drawings and letters.

Summer In Pain is also the title of his debut solo album, that follows the experience of his previous band Light Pollution. The record is far away from what he did in the past: Jimmy has written pop love songs since 2011 and recorded them – in one take – singing out the lyrics for the first time over his old 70’s organ and his iPhone.

The title track, that we have the pleasure to premiere today on Going Solo, is the first excerpt from the album, which will be released on March 24th through newborn label Field Mate Records.
