Hazel English – Control

Oakland-based indie-pop rising songstress Hazel English has unveiled a new excerpt from her upcoming EP Never Going Home. The new song by the 25-year-old artist is called Control and it’s the usual whirlwind of jangle guitars and sparkling synth hooks, drawing inevitable comparisons to acts such as Alvvays and Fear of Men. Control comes alongside an official video, directed by Kate Cox, that documents Hazel’s choice to leave her daily routine behind to discover something new. No actors were hired for the video, in order to embrace the spontaneity of the whole action.

The Never Going Home EP is out this Friday, October 7th, on 12″ limited edition vinyl via House Anxiety/Marathon Artists. Watch the video below.
