HÆLOS – Oracle

We were really really waiting for HÆLOS‘ comeback here at the Going Solo headquarter, since the last time we had seen them playing at Pitchfork Paris Music Festival. We featured them on the blog since their early days and finally yesterday they dropped a new single, Oracle, taken from their upcoming debut LP Full Circle, which will be released through Matador Records (God bless them for Majical Cloudz’s last album!) next March.

Reading that singer Lotti Benardout said that their music is the one “you put on after the club. You can still feel that energy and euphoria, but it might bring you back to reflect on certain moments or memories” made me think that those sentences perfectly fit with the idea that’s behind London-based trio and their gloomy trip-hop ritual: it’s exactly what you need to hear when you come back late at night and start wondering about everything and nothing in particular all at once. Oracle opens as a religious elegy and slowly grows with a cinematic crescendo that explodes in pure dark electronic. It’s terrific, as are Lotti’s otherworldly vocals.

Listen below.

Oracle is the first excerpt to be taken from HÆLOS’s debut LP Full Circle, out on March 18th via Matador Records.
