GEMS – Peacefully

We had full moon the past week, more precisely on March 12th. Along with it also came the new installment of the Every Full Moon project from LA dream-pop duo GEMS. Titled Peacefully, the song opens around sparse keys and the hazy vocals of Lindsay Pitts, before tacking on an uptempo rhythm driven by thumping electronic percussions, dreamy guitar licks and subtle basslines. It’s a song about finally become aware of the end of a relationship; speaking on it, Lindsay said: “Someone once told me that when you finally end a relationship, you see your lover as you did in the very beginning for a moment. I hesitated to cut the knots Cliff and I had tied so tight many times as the sweetest memories would flood into my mind. But eventually I had to set them free.
