Foxgluvv – Crush

Foxgluvv has released her debut single Crush a week or so ago, getting some traction from blogs and Spotify. I’ve stumbled upon the track only recently but I immediately felt in love with it. Described as “hungover-pop” by the artist herself, the tracks sounds like a perfectly balanced mix of mellow vocals, stretched synth hooks and obsessive percussions, channeling the likes of Jessie Ware, Zella Day and Anna Of The North.

Speaking on the track to The 405, Foxgluvv said: “Although the title suggests that this is a love song, ‘Crush’ is all about unrequited lust. I wrote the song with my friend and producer Scott Colcombe and we wanted to capture the initial feeling of briefly falling head over heels for someone at a party, which is why the song is so lazy and romantic and lustful all at the same time.
