Dream Lake – Midnight Sun

It’s been a while since the last time we heard from Dream Lake, the Swedish electro-pop act duo formed by Isabella Svärdstam and Niklas Willar Lidholm. Now they’re back with Midnight Sun, a dreamy tune taken from their upcoming new extended play Lux. Self-produced by the band, the song is built around airy synth lines, sophisticated pop textures, reverberated guitars and melancholic vocals, conveying nostalgic summer feels, vaguely reminiscent of early Beach House, throughout the whole melody.

Speaking to TLOBF, Dream Lake said, “Midnight Sun is about sinking into a pleasant memory, to let yourself travel back to that special place with that special person that will forever be a part of you. The song is based on a piano melody played by Isabella. I added some chords to it on the guitar. We wanted the music to feel like sinking into an inner space, so we added some dreamy synth layers and some dripping tones through the production process. It all came together exactly how we imagined it.
