Day Wave – Nothing At All

Heading back to Going Solo’s foundation, it’s hard to think about five different guys, with the most various tastes in music, starting a collective blog focused on new music. At that time, we shared just a few passions: The Smiths and Captured Tracks’ catalogue. To be honest, we could say that our friendship began when Wild Nothing released Nocturne in 2012.

This preamble is useful to introduce Day Wave and and let you know how much exciting can be a debut like that for us. Being hit by sonorities that usually belong to DIIV, Beach Fossils or to the above mentioned Wild Nothing, has shocked our week.

Day Wave is the one-man recording project of 25-year-old Oakland-based Jackson Phillips, who started recording as Day Wave only this fall and has yet to play a live show. Nothing At All is the first track to be taken from his debut EP, which is set for release early next year. Listen below.
