DAKOTA – Silver Tongue

DAKOTA are an all-female alternative rock four piece from the Netherlands. We introduced them with their single Icon later last year and today they return with a new great single called Silver Tongue. Driven by swirling guitars and nervous drums, the track stands out for its wonderful structure and the haunting vocals delivered by the band’s lead-singer Lisa Brammer. Comparisons with Warpaint come up quite easy but yeah, there totally something here that reminds me of the LA band.

Silver Tongue is about dealing with those situations in life when a person, usually someone close to you, keep trying to take you away from your dreams, labelling them as unrealistic. Brammer’s reply pops up like a mantra in the song: “Don’t take it from me, don’t take it from me”
