Dahlia Sleeps – Black And Blue

Just as it happened in 2014 when we completely fell head over heels for Yumi Zouma, I think it’s going to happen again for Dahlia Sleeps. After debuting last October with the amazing Breathe and then keeping the level high with Hessian, the South-London duo has just released the final banger. It’s called Black And Blue and it’s built around Lucy Hill’s lush vocals, which impart depth to the song’s ethereal pace, made by piano chords and shimmering guitars, and are a cornerstone of what could be easily defined as a perfect art-pop song. Soft electronic interventions work as a path to lend the song the same greatness that belongs to mentors like The xx, while the chorus well… we may never find something that works better than this one. We don’t know if there’s an official release on the way, we don’t know nothing, we just know that if we could get a new Dahlia Sleeps’ song in our inbox every single day of the week, that would be amazing.
