Blonde Maze – Antarctica

It’s been a while since the last time we heard from Blonde Maze, a year or so at least. We left the NYC-based artist with a heavily electronic-infused single, which we said was reminiscent of the Four Tet’s There Is Love In You-era, only to find her today dealing with a more polished version of her synth-laden offering. In fact, Blonde Maze’s latest effort Antarctica is a smooth mid-tempo driven by sleek key chords, claps and shimmering electronic splashes of color. Vocals are silky and perfectly expose the feelings of abandonment felt when the person with whom you have a strong connection leaves you, even temporarily: “when you leave, I’m cold / It’s like living in Antarctica, where all my time has gone.
