Billie Marten – Milk & Honey

It’s only matter of time before that Billie Marten becomes a huge name of the music biz. Having already achieved a lot despite her ridiculously young age (playlisted at Radio 1, 6 Music & Radio X, sell-out her debut London show and played SXSW and Radio1 Future Festival), Marten certainly doesn’t want to stop now. Her new single Milk & Honey has been aired as the “Hottest Record In The World” by Annie Mac on BBC1 and emphasizes the tenderness of Marten’s recordings and undoubted talent as lyricist. She reminds us a lot of Laura Marling (which is obviously a great thing), but her influences are definitely wider, ranging from Bowie to Portishead.

Milk & Honey will be available digitally on April 22nd and physically via 7” vinyl on 10th June through Chess Club Records & RCA. Marten’s debut LP will dropo later in the autumn.
