Big Cream – What A Mess

Big Cream: a bunch of kiddos born in the early ’90s on the outskirts of Bologna, Italy, with a growing and unstoppable passion for the loud and fuzzy guitars that marked the decade in which they were just babies. Matteo, Christian e Riccardo grew up watching on the telly the clips of their youth heroes, Nirvana, but the true epiphany took place during a gig of Dinosaur Jr. In that occasion, J. Mascis opened to them a whole new world, made of dirty guitar chords and lo-fi sonorities, where perfection wasn’t even contemplated.

So Big Cream were born and, if you’re still reading, you already know that there’s only one way in which they could¬†play: raw, aggressive and, most important, LOUD! What A Mess is the lead single off their debut EP Creamy Tales, a rough indie-rock ride, reminiscent of Yuck’s early incarnation and imbued with that sense of youth urgency that marks every single great DIY rock recording.

Creamy Tales is out today. Stream it in full and buy the album via More Letters Records‘ Bandcamp (digital, cassette) or MiaCameretta Records (compact disc).
