BAUM – Hot Water

Los Angeles based artist BAUM labels her music style as “natural grunge” and, whatever that means, it feels right. We’re not talking of harsh guitars and flannel shirts though; her last single Hot Water is indeed quite poppy and soulful, but it definitely pays homage to the past, playing the same retro field of acts such as MUNA and HAIM. The song was inspired by BAUM’s college years, during which she experienced the passage from innocence to experience; “I wanted to be perceived as a woman, but I didn’t understand that that came with expectations,” she explains. Listen below.
