Amber Mark – Way Back

Back in February, NYC up-and-coming artist Amber Mark wrote a nice, polite email to your favourite Italian buzz blog to submit her debut single S P A C E. We loved it and decided to premiere it. “World First”, as Zane Lowe would say. Well, only two songs later, Zane has become Amber’s pal and supporter, the guys over at Spotify love her music and included it frequently on their trending playlists (Moonson has recently exceeded ONE MILLION of plays on Spotify) and Amber herself hinted a collaboration with nothing less than XL Recordings.

Indeed Way Back, the latest offering from the half-German, half-Jamaican songstress, is in a certain way reminiscent of certain XL Recordings’ outputs, thanks to its piano-laden melody enriched with a futuristic production that can count on some dope thumping beats and glitchy background vocals. Way Back is part of Amber Mark’s debut EP 3:33, which is set to release in October.

Not sure how exactly all of this happened but we’re really happy to have been part of it.
