The new song is Alphabetic at their best, giving their contemporary touch, made of mellow guitar riffs and alluring chords, to the classic side of pop music. Lyrically then, French Boyfriend is an ode to Paris but also a funny, weird number where Walter Heale and Rebecca Lever’s voices interweave and play a role to tell us a story in which Heale is in the City of Lights, hidden into a car outside his ex-girlfriend’s house, wondering “what’s so great about French boys anyway?
