Alex Napping – You’ve Got Me

Father/Daughter Records has always been a label to look at when it comes to the best new indie-rock releases. They released amazing music in the past years from the likes of SPORTS, Diet Cig, Forth Wanderers, Pure Bathing Culture (ok, they’re not indie-rock but we love ’em) and they’re also fresh from the success of Vagabon’s record Infinite Worlds.

So no surprises that the label’s latest signing won us over almost immediately. We introduced Austin/NYC four-piece Alex Napping with their single Living Room in one of our latest playlists Going Inbox. Now the band led by Alex Cohen have unveiled the second track off their upcoming sophomore record Mise En Place, an album that revolves around a formative relationship and tells the story of Cohen’s conflicting roles as both person and partner. The new single is called You’ve Got Me and it’s a song that blends slacker guitars with a sort of hectic indie-rock urgency, sufficient reason why you should not really miss it.
