In 2014 I got my bachelor’s degree in law, found a proper job, moved to a new house with my girlfriend and adopted three babies (Nebbia, Tosca and Selene – the best dog in the world and two kitties he raised in his image and likeness). I did lot of things and felt so much at once that I could scream. I listened to fewer records than usual. And I always got back to one.

As it’s been (inevitably) an year of highs and lows, I fought back the latters with the same sarcasm of Angel Olsen’s Hi-Five, used Angel Olsen’s Lights Out as Mr. Motivator to stay focused on what I still want to achieve even in front of failures and the rest of Burn Your Fire For No Witness to turn into positivity what wasn’t beautiful already.

Angel Olsen penned my album of the year. Angel Olsen’s been my spiritual guide throughout 2014. I’ll remember it, alongside these other things:

Dads – I’ll Be The Tornado // The War On Drugs – Lost In The Dream // Fear Of Men – Loom // Yumi Zouma – Youmi Zouma EP // Grouper – Ruins // How To Dress Well – What Is This Heart? // The Hotelier – Home, Like No Place Is There // Hundred Waters – The Moon Rang Like A Bell // Clark – Clark // Tops – Picture You Staring // Run The Jewels – Run The Jewels 2 // Perfect Pussy – Say Yes To Love // Ricky Eat Acid – Three Love Songs // CEO – Wonderland // Viet Cong – Cassette // Lidia Ainsworth – Right From Real // Alvvays – Alvvays // Bing & Ruth – Tomorrow Was The Golden Age // Frankie Cosmos – Zentropy
